RCKFASHIONLP01: Original & Vintage Dubs From The A-Class Studio – Dub Organiser

Fashion Records’ legendary A-Class Studio started when Chris Lane installed a disc cutting lathe in his flat in 1979, using it to cut dubs of his early productions as well as tracks brought in by local sound systems. It was soon moved to a basement room beneath the Dub Vendor shop in Clapham Junction, and as the dub cutting business grew, the studio became a popular venue for leading sound systems from all over the country, as well as a recording facility for recording and mixing many of Fashion’s hits. The rhythms contained in this album were recorded in the 1980’s for various projects, some of which never saw an official release. The tracks were all mixed at the A-Class Studio by Chris ‘Dub Organiser’ Lane, and were initially shared to a select circle of sound system operators to be played as exclusive dubs. Since then these tracks have been swapped and traded between collectors and members of the sound system fraternity, but now the time is right for the music to be made available to all dub addicts and music lovers, and for the very first time on vinyl.
